MDAC - Malaysia Digital Arrival CardMalaysia Digital Arrival Card

Entering Malaysia by Air, Land or Sea with MDAC

The Malaysia Digital Arrival Card applies however you arrive, unless you fall within an official exempt category.

MDAC Is Not Only for Air Travelers

Foreign visitors generally need to complete MDAC before arriving in Malaysia, whether they come by air, land or sea, unless they are exempt. The form asks for your mode of travel and your flight, vessel or other transport number.

By Air

Complete MDAC before you fly, within the 3-day window. Keep your passport and your MDAC details or confirmation easy to reach when you arrive.

By Land

MDAC is not limited to air travelers. If you cross into Malaysia by road or rail, the same rules apply: complete it before you arrive unless you are exempt.

By Sea

The same applies if you arrive by ferry, cruise or other vessel. Enter your vessel details in the form and complete it before arrival unless you are exempt.

When to Complete It

The traveler's trip must be within 3 days, including the date of submission. MDAC is meant to be completed in the days just before you travel, not when you book.

At the Border

  • Have your passport ready.
  • Keep your MDAC details or confirmation available on your phone, in case you are asked for them.
  • Follow the instructions of the immigration officers at the checkpoint.

Not sure whether you need MDAC? See who is exempt, or follow our how-to-apply guide.
