Malaysia Visa and MDAC: What's the Difference?
Visa requirements and MDAC are separate travel requirements.
What Is MDAC?
- The Malaysia Digital Arrival Card is an online pre-arrival registration.
- It is generally for foreign visitors, unless they fall within an official exempt category.
- The traveler's trip must be within 3 days, including the date of submission.
- It is not a visa and it is not an approval.
What Is a Visa?
A visa is a separate immigration permission that may be required depending on your passport, travel purpose and circumstances.
Do I Need Both?
Some travelers may need both a visa and MDAC, while others may be visa-free but still need MDAC unless they fall within an MDAC exempt category. MDAC does not replace a visa, and a visa does not replace MDAC.
